We are an Austin based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2006. Our mission is to reduce the incidence of diabetes and obesity among vulnerable families living in underserved communities.
By teaching healthy behaviors through community-based intervention programs, we envision a community where families can learn life-long skills to achieve a healthy weight and an active lifestyle to prevent obesity and decrease the incidence of diabetes.
Our organization provides services to a diverse population. Since cultural competency is a key value, every aspect of programming recognizes and celebrates the culture, language, and values of target populations. All services are provided in English and Spanish.
The core activity of Keep It Healthy is a 12 week lifestyle intervention curricula that teaches healthy lifestyles to underserved families and addresses multigenerational obesity issues.
